| In 2001, Lockwood Brothers removed a 60 ton magnet from the
University of Illinois Research Center using our 500 ton jacking tower. We designed
and fabricated a 100 ton swivel head for the tower to adjust the load to navigate the
confines of the space. The magnet traveled the interior route through the facility
on 100 ton dollies. Once outside the building, Lockwood loaded the magnet on a
trailer and trucked it to Virginia, where it was offloaded and installed into Jefferson
Lab. Click each picture for larger image. |
